MIFCO Collects Over 300 Metric Tons of Fish on New Year's Day

The Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has reported an impressive start to 2025, collecting a total of 311 metric tons (MT) of fish on January 1.
The collection involved 79 fishing vessels, with contributions recorded from various fisheries complexes:
- Kooddoo Fisheries Complex: 80.72 MT
- Addu Fisheries Complex: 9.04 MT
- Fleet Collection: 221.13 MT
No contributions were reported from the Felivaru Fisheries Complex on this day.
Breaking down the catch by atolls:
- Gaafu Alifu Atoll: 80.7 MT (20 vessels)
- Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll: 92.6 MT (22 vessels)
- Huvadhoo Atoll: 43.4 MT (4 vessels)
- Lhaviyani Atoll: 58.1 MT (15 vessels)
- Seenu Atoll: 9.4 MT (4 vessels)
MIFCO's strong collection reflects the sustained efforts in sustainable fisheries and highlights the importance of the industry as the Maldives begins the year.
