The Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO) participated in Seafood Expo Asia 2026, the premier B2B trade show dedicated to the Asian seafood market. Marking its fourteenth edition, the fair took place in Singapore for the fourth consecutive year, held alongside Seafood Processing Asia—a specialized platform highlighting processing machinery, packaging innovation, and modern aquaculture techniques.
The expo convened regional seafood suppliers, retail chains, HORECA operators, and key distributors, offering exhibitors a direct route to top buyers from Singapore and South Asia. MIFCO structured its participation around a verified buyer list of pre-qualified attendees, enabling targeted engagements with key commercial partners rather than relying on general show visitors. For a company focused on exporting premium Maldivian tuna, the exhibition also offered a clear view into how seafood products across Asia are currently sourced, positioned, and marketed.
MIFCO successfully met its core objectives for the event. The team identified promising sales leads to supply canned and pouched tuna to major buyers across Japan, China, the Middle East, and Singapore, laying solid groundwork for future export deals. In addition, the expo yielded valuable market intelligence, allowing MIFCO to examine competitive pricing, packaging formats, and marketing strategies across the region—insights that will help refine its ongoing strategy for promoting Maldivian tuna globally.
As Seafood Expo Asia continues to cement its role as the region's top seafood trade hub, MIFCO's presence underscores its commitment to expanding its international footprint while staying closely aligned with shifting global market demand.
