Hilton produced a dominant performance to defeat Huvafen Fushi 8–1 in the Resort League 2026 North Male Zone Group D, securing second place in the group and a place in the playoff for the quarter-final.

Hilton, who had suffered a 1–0 defeat to Patina in their opening match, bounced back in style. Huvafen Fushi also entered the match after losing their opener 6–0 to Patina.

Hilton took control in the first half, racing to a 3–1 lead before the break. They continued their attacking display after half-time, adding five more goals to complete an emphatic 8–1 victory.

Ali Saam led the scoring with a hat-trick, while Ibrahim Rifath and Ahmed Ashham each scored twice. Abdul Raheem Aboobakuru also found the net for Hilton.

Huvafen Fushi's only goal came from Mohamed Raayis Easa.

Rifath was rewarded for his impressive performance by being named Player of the Match.

With the result, Hilton finish second in Group D, while Huvafen Fushi remain at the bottom. The two teams will now face each other in a playoff for the second quarter-final spot from Group D.

Meanwhile, Patina have already secured automatic qualification for the quarter-finals as Group D winners, having collected six points from two matches.

The Resort League 2026, hosted by Bandos Maldives, is being held from 11 to 28 September with 15 teams competing across four groups. Group winners qualify directly for the quarter-finals, while the Group D second- and third-placed teams contest a playoff for the remaining quarter-final spot.
