North Malé Zone: Summer Island moved to the top of Group A in the Resort League with a 2–0 victory over Taj Coral, securing their second consecutive win in the tournament.

Summer Island had opened their campaign with an impressive 3–1 victory over Bandos, while Taj Coral suffered a 4–2 defeat against Kuda Huraa in their opening Group A match.

Summer Island took control of the match in the 16th minute when Khalid Rasheed found the back of the net to give his side a 1–0 lead.

The island side doubled their advantage in the 35th minute of the second half through Ali Nawaz, who finished after an assist from Lufshaan Moosa.

Two minutes later, Summer Island were reduced to four players when goalscorer Khalid Rasheed received his second yellow card and was shown a red card. Summer Island were therefore forced to play with four players for the next two minutes.

Despite being a player down, Summer Island held on to secure all three points and a 2–0 victory.

Lufshaan Moosa was named the Player of the Match for his performance.

With six points from two matches, Summer Island now sit top of Group A. Taj Coral, meanwhile, have suffered two consecutive defeats and remain at the bottom of the group, ending their hopes of reaching the quarter-finals.

The Resort League 2026, hosted by Bandos Maldives, features 15 teams competing across four groups from 11 to 28 September.
