Mbappe and Zidane
Zinedine Zidane has backed Kylian Mbappé to continue as captain of the France national team, describing the Real Madrid star as “the best in the world” as the national team begins a new cycle.
Mbappé has already established himself as France’s all-time leading goalscorer. The 27-year-old has scored 66 goals in 106 appearances for Les Bleus, while also providing 38 assists, giving him 104 goal involvements for his country.
His record-breaking international career includes the 2018 FIFA World Cup title, a World Cup runners-up finish in 2022 and a historic run at the 2026 World Cup.
With Mbappé now firmly established as one of the senior figures in the French squad, his leadership will remain a major part of France’s next chapter.
