Bandos Maldives made a winning start to their Resort League North Malé Zone Group B campaign, defeating Ritz-Carlton 3-0.

Bandos took the lead just one minute into the match, with Ahmed Shamaal finding the net after being set up by Shaamih. Bandos maintained their advantage until half-time, going into the break 1-0 ahead.

After a hard-fought second half, Bandos doubled their lead in the 38th minute of the second half, as Maaidh scored following an assist from Shamaal.

Bandos then completed the scoring in second-half stoppage time, with Shamaal scoring his second goal of the match after another assist from Shaamih, sealing a 3-0 victory.

Ahmed Shamaal was rewarded for his performance by being named Player of the Match.

The Resort League North Malé Zone is scheduled from 11 to 29 September 2026 and is hosted by Bandos Maldives. The tournament features 15 teams divided into four groups.

The top two teams from Groups A, B and C will qualify for the knockout stage, with each group winner advancing directly to the quarter-finals. In Group D, the second- and third-placed teams will play a playoff for the remaining quarter-final spot.
