Bolifushi's impressive Resort League campaign came to an end at the quarter-final stage as Olhuveli secured a 2–0 victory to book their place in the semi-finals of the South Malé Zone.
Bolifushi entered the quarter-finals as Group D winners, while Olhuveli reached the knockout stage after finishing third in Group A. Olhuveli then earned their quarter-final spot by defeating SAii Lagoon, who finished runners-up in Group B, in the playoff round.
Olhuveli started the quarter-final strongly and took the lead in the 13th minute when Ali Shiau found the net, assisted by Mohamed Vigaam. The goal gave Olhuveli a 1–0 advantage at half-time.
Olhuveli doubled their lead immediately after the restart. Just one minute into the second half, Ali Shiau scored his second goal of the match, this time assisted by Hassan Suhail, putting Olhuveli 2–0 ahead.
Bolifushi pushed for a response but could not find a way through Olhuveli's defence. The final whistle confirmed a 2–0 victory for Olhuveli, ending Bolifushi's hopes of reaching the semi-finals.
Ali Shiau was the standout performer, scoring both goals and earning the Player of the Match award.
Olhuveli's journey from third place in Group A, through the playoff round, and now into the semi-finals continues, while Group D winners Bolifushi bow out of the competition one step before the final four.
