BML Launches Dedicated Dollar Purchase Service for Umrah Travelers

The Bank of Maldives (BML) has introduced a special dollar purchase service for Umrah travelers during Ramadan 2025, aiming to provide greater convenience for those embarking on the pilgrimage.
The service will be available at Masjid Maliki Salman (Salman Mosque) Conference Hall (5th Floor) and the Hulhumalé Branch on designated banking days.
Service Schedule:
February 19 – 27, 2025 | 9:00 AM – 2:00 PMMarch 2 – 13, 2025 | 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Key Guidelines for Travelers:
- USD 500 per person limit.
- Customers can purchase dollars for up to five travelers at a time.
- Payments can be made via BML-issued debit cards or cash.
- Valid ID cards or passports required for each traveler. If a representative is purchasing on behalf of a traveler, their ID must also be presented.
- Travelers must be listed in the official Umrah Travelers list submitted by Umrah groups.
- Other travelers can continue using the USD Booking Portal to purchase dollars for collection at Velana International Airport’s Departure Hall.
During this period, Umrah dollar sales will not be available at BML Islamic Malé Branch, Main Branch, or Villimalé Branch. However, customers outside the Greater Malé region can still visit their nearest branches for dollar purchases.
The initiative comes as part of BML’s commitment to enhancing customer service and ensuring a seamless experience for Umrah travelers ahead of their journey.
