La Liga vs Real Madrid...
Real Madrid have demanded the immediate resignation of LaLiga president Javier Tebas following comments comparing the club’s communication strategy through Real Madrid TV (RMTV) with the propaganda methods of Nazi Germany.
In an official statement, the Spanish giants described the comparison as “absolutely unacceptable” and extremely serious, arguing that such remarks were inappropriate for someone holding senior positions in Spanish football.
The controversy centres on Tebas’ comparison between Real Madrid’s media strategy and the methods associated with Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi regime’s propaganda minister. The comments prompted a strong response from the club, which accused the LaLiga president of attempting to discredit Real Madrid, its management and its television channel.
Real Madrid also questioned Tebas’ neutrality and impartiality, stating that his repeated conduct was incompatible with the responsibilities of his institutional positions.
“Javier Tebas’s repeated conduct reveals a lack of neutrality, respect and impartiality that is incompatible with his institutional responsibilities,” the club said in its statement.
Consequently, Real Madrid called on Tebas to step down immediately from both his position as president of LaLiga and his role as vice-president of the Spanish Football Federation.
The dispute adds another chapter to the ongoing tensions between Real Madrid and LaLiga’s leadership, with the latest exchange highlighting the strained relationship between the club and the organisation responsible for managing Spain’s top professional football divisions.
Real Madrid’s demand puts Tebas’ remarks at the centre of a fresh confrontation in Spanish football. Any further developments will depend on the response from the LaLiga president and the relevant football authorities.
