Six people have been arrested following a police raid on an apartment suspected of being used as a drug café, where narcotics were allegedly sold and consumed.
The Criminal Court on Saturday ordered all six suspects to remain in custody for 30 days as police continue their investigation into suspected drug-related offences.
The suspects were arrested on suspicion of possessing, using, selling and trafficking illegal drugs.
According to the arrest warrant, police recovered a significant quantity of suspected narcotics, cash and a digital weighing scale believed to have been used to measure drugs during the raid.
Police told the court that the apartment appeared to have been arranged like a café, allegedly providing a place where drugs could be sold and consumed. Investigators also noted that some of the suspects had reportedly been seen entering and leaving the apartment frequently.
However, the six suspects denied having any connection to the drugs discovered at the premises when they appeared before the court.
After considering the circumstances presented, the court found reasonable grounds to believe that the apartment may have been used for drug-related activities. It subsequently ordered all six suspects to be remanded in custody for 30 days.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the allegations against the suspects have yet to be established in court.
