Real Madrid have made a major statement in the 2026 summer transfer window, bringing in six new players as José Mourinho begins his second spell in charge of the Spanish giants.

The club’s recruitment has combined experience, defensive strength and exciting young talent, with the six additions costing the club around €225 million in reported transfer fees.

The headline signing is Yan Diomande, who joined from RB Leipzig for a reported €125 million, potentially rising to €140 million with add-ons. The 19-year-old winger signed a seven-year contract until 2033.

Diomande arrives after an outstanding 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign and is regarded as one of the biggest young talents in European football.

Real Madrid also strengthened at left-back with Marc Cucurella, who arrived from Chelsea in a deal reported at around €55 million.

The Spain international brings Premier League experience and adds another attacking option from the left side.

Young Spanish striker Carlos Espí joined Madrid from Levante for a reported €25 million.

Espí represents a long-term investment in Madrid's attack, giving Mourinho another young forward to develop alongside the club's established stars.

Denzel Dumfries arrived from Inter Milan for a reported €20 million, adding pace, physicality and attacking ability to Madrid's right side.

His versatility could give Mourinho another option in both defensive and attacking roles.

Real Madrid strengthened their central defence with Ibrahima Konaté, who joined as a free agent after leaving Liverpool.

The French defender adds experience and physical presence to a back line that has undergone significant changes.

Another major arrival was Bernardo Silva, who joined Real Madrid on a free transfer. The Portuguese midfielder agreed a two-year contract running until June 2028.

Bernardo brings creativity, technical quality and vast experience from his years in the Premier League and European competition.

The six signings represent a significant rebuild under Mourinho, with Madrid adding quality across defence, midfield and attack.

Interestingly, the club has also generated substantial income from player sales, meaning the net spending is considerably lower than the gross €225 million outlay.

All six new signings have already made their official debuts for Real Madrid, with Carlos Espí scoring in his first La Liga appearance against Espanyol to help secure a 2-1 victory.
