The K. Gulhi Reclamation & Shore Protection project is currently underway, with 40% of the work completed. This significant project was initiated by the Government of Maldives and awarded to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

The project encompasses a comprehensive scope of work, including:

• Dredging to expand the area for development.
• Construction of a breakwater and revetment to protect the shoreline.
• Quay wall construction, along with repairs to existing quay walls.
• Concrete pavement for enhanced infrastructure.
• Ramp and access platform construction for better connectivity.
• Construction of a 120x2m jetty to improve marine access.
• Installation of navigational and harbor lights for safe navigation in the area.

The project officially kicked off in early April 2024 and is set to bolster the region's infrastructure and port facilities, supporting the government's ongoing development efforts. With substantial progress already made, the project is expected to continue improving the shore protection and marine infrastructure of K. Gulhi.
