Home Minister Ihusaan has said that 16.69 kilograms of narcotics have been seized in a major drug seizure operation conducted in the Maldives.

The minister said in a recent post on X that 16.69 kg of narcotics had been seized in a joint anti-narcotics operation by the police and customs in the last 72 hours. The minister said the street value of the seized drugs was MVR 21.6 Million.

The minister said that under the leadership of President Muizzu, the goal was to find a drug-free maldives.

While the minister did not provide further details about the operation, customs revealed in the past two days that some who were trying to smuggle drugs into the Maldives through air and via Currier have been caught. The police also conducted a special operation in male' city.
