Government Ministers Address Public Queries at Sultan Park Forum
In the inaugural session of a series of public forums held at Sultan Park on Thursday evening, government ministers provided updates on ministry activities and responded to public inquiries.
Islamic Ministry Updates:
- Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed reported that upon assuming office, President Muizzu addressed the MVR 27 million debt of the Islamic Ministry within the first two weeks.
- Necessary funds were allocated to settle the debt, paving the way for the resumption of stalled projects across islands and improved services.
Sports Ministry Highlights:
- The newly established Sports Ministry inherited a debt of MVR 160 million from 232 projects, equivalent to approximately two years of the ministry's budget.
- President Muizzu allocated MVR 125 million in the last two months to address the Sports Ministry's debt burden.
Resumption of Projects:
- Ministers emphasised the resumption of halted projects as ministries address outstanding debts, signalling a commitment to achieving the government's 'Week 14' goals within the first 100 days.
- They outlined forthcoming initiatives aimed at furthering government objectives and enhancing public services.
