Italian luxury fashion house Aquazzura has teamed up with the art-immersive luxury resort JOALI Maldives to create an exclusive tropical capsule collection. Inspired by the serene beauty of Muravandhoo island, the collection includes a handcrafted sandal slide and matching clutch, available exclusively at the resort’s boutique, Maison de JOALI.

The capsule collection reflects the vision of Aquazzura’s founder and creative director, Edgardo Osorio, who drew inspiration from his passion for the Maldives’ vibrant marine life, sunlit skies, and lush greenery. The white leather pieces feature intricate beaded embroidery portraying pristine blue waters, a cerulean sky, and iconic coconut palms. Designed to be fresh and casual yet refined and bold, the collection exudes the essence of an exotic island escape.

The clutch's design pays homage to JOALI’s spectacular arrival jetty, evoking the gentle ebb and flow of the ocean. The turquoise hues of the surrounding sea, reminiscent of Aquazzura’s iconic "Aqua" blue, symbolize the synergy between the two brands. Osorio shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration:"The Maldives captivated me with its vibrant coral reefs and stunning natural beauty. The collaboration extends to the Aquazzura Casa collection, available for a limited time from December 20, 2024, at JOALI Maldives. The "Secret Garden" line, inspired by 18th-century Chinese porcelain, features enchanting tableware with lush botanical motifs. Guests can indulge in a curated dining experience by Michelin-starred Chef Theodor Falser at Bellinis, the resort’s Italian restaurant, combining authentic flavors with the elegance of Aquazzura’s design.
