President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu Meets UAE Deputy Prime Minister

President His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Muizzu held a significant meeting with His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on the sidelines of the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
During the meeting, President Muizzu outlined the Maldives’ development priorities, specifically highlighting areas where the government is seeking support from the UAE. Key topics included economic growth, attracting investment, and enhancing the health sector. The President emphasized the need for strategic partnerships to promote sustainable development in the Maldives, calling attention to ongoing projects aimed at improving healthcare infrastructure and creating economic opportunities for Maldivians.
In response, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to supporting the Maldives. He underscored the longstanding friendship between the two nations and expressed the UAE’s readiness to assist the Maldives in addressing its development needs. The Deputy Prime Minister also praised the Maldives' efforts in driving economic progress and pledged continued collaboration in sectors vital to the country's growth.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of deepening diplomatic ties and strengthening bilateral cooperation.
