MALÉ, Maldives — Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has expressed high praise for Maldivian President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, describing him as a soft-spoken, polite leader whose communication remains remarkably powerful, structured, and crystal clear.
Prime Minister Anwar shared his impressions during a joint press statement delivered alongside President Dr Mohamed Muizzu at the President's Office, following the conclusion of official bilateral talks held during his state visit to the Maldives.
Reflecting warmly on the negotiations, Prime Minister Anwar commended the methodical approach taken by the Maldivian leader, noting that President Muizzu presented national priorities and key initiatives with rigorous planning and clarity.
Delivering his praise with a touch of humor, Prime Minister Anwar remarked that President Muizzu laid out the bilateral agenda systematically—laying out points "one, two, and three" like an accomplished engineer—leaving him with virtually no choice other than to say yes and agree. He assured that Malaysia will work diligently to ensure all the initiatives requested by President Muizzu are fully realized.
Prime Minister Anwar underscored that the enduring relationship between the Maldives and Malaysia is anchored in deep mutual respect and trust, maintained at both a personal and state level.
He added that President Muizzu’s firmness and proactive commitment to addressing the crucial needs of the Maldives have provided strong momentum for the Malaysian government to accelerate the execution and implementation of all bilateral agreements.
