Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef has inaugurated the photo exhibition “Vocational Journey in Frames”, organised by Maldives Polytechnic to commemorate 50 years of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) services in the Maldives.

The inauguration ceremony took place this morning at SIFCO Hall. Following the official opening, the Vice President signed a commemorative board prepared for dignitaries and was presented with a handcrafted product made by Maldives Polytechnic students, which was handed over by the institution’s Chief Executive Officer, Zooshan Kamaludeen.

The Vice President then toured the exhibition, which showcases a rich collection of photographs celebrating the evolution and impact of the TVET sector on the nation’s development, as well as future initiatives to enhance vocational education and training. The exhibition will remain open to the public on 7 and 8 October at SIFCO Hall.

As the Maldives continues to prioritise the creation of a skilled and productive workforce, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu places strong emphasis on advancing technical and vocational education to meet the country’s growing socio-economic needs.

TVET services in the Maldives were first introduced in October 1975, marking a milestone in the nation’s journey toward empowering technical excellence and practical learning.
