Hon. Abdul Raheem Abdulla, the Speaker of the Parliament, has appointed former Member of Parliament Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik as the Bureau Chief of the Parliament Office. This appointment marks a significant step in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of parliamentary operations.
Nihan's appointment comes with the mandate to assist the Speaker in his duties under the Parliamentary Service Rules, as confirmed by a spokesperson of the Parliament. As Bureau Chief, Nihan will play a crucial role in overseeing the smooth functioning of the Speaker's Bureau, ensuring seamless coordination and execution of parliamentary activities.
This appointment holds particular significance as Nihan steps into a role previously held by Fathimath Mohamed Solih (Fathe), who served alongside three Presidents of the Maldives in the final days of the previous parliament. Nihan's wealth of experience and expertise in parliamentary affairs positions him as a valuable asset in advancing the legislative agenda and parliamentary processes.
Having previously represented the Villimale' constituency in the 17th and 18th Parliament, Nihan brings a wealth of legislative experience to his new role.
