Resort League North Male Zone Final: Bandos vs Baros..
North Malé Zone: The Resort League 2026 North Malé Zone reaches its final with Bandos and Baros set to meet once again, renewing a rivalry that previously decided the title in 2024.
Bandos lifted the North Malé Zone crown two years ago, and Baros now return to the final with an opportunity to turn the tables and claim the title.
However, more than the North Malé Zone trophy will be at stake. The champions will earn a place in the Resort Super League, where the South Malé Zone champions, Sun Siyam Olhuveli, await.
Baros booked their place in the final in emphatic fashion, defeating Patina 4–1 in the second semi-final.
Mohamed Sahaau Ali scored twice, while Ibrahim Saeed also found the net twice as Baros raced into a 3–0 half-time lead before adding another goal immediately after the restart.
Patina managed a consolation goal through Maadhih Wajeeh, but Baros comfortably secured their place in the final.
Bandos, meanwhile, had to work harder for their final berth, edging Sangeli 3–2 in a thrilling semi-final.
Hassan Muaan opened the scoring for Bandos before Sangeli's Mail Mohamed equalised in the second half.
Bandos responded with goals from Ahmed Shamaal and Ahmed Reehaan to move 3–1 ahead. Sangeli pulled one back through Mohamed Shaufaan in stoppage time, but Bandos held on to reach the final.
With both sides now through, the stage is set for another Bandos–Baros showdown.
The Resort League 2026, hosted by Bandos Maldives, began with 15 teams competing across four groups. The top two teams from Groups A, B and C advanced to the knockout stage, with group winners qualifying directly for the quarter-finals. In Group D, the second- and third-placed teams contested a playoff for the remaining quarter-final spot.
The North Malé Zone champions will now face Sun Siyam Olhuveli, the South Malé Zone champions, in the Resort Super League.
