Maldives Surfing Association (MSA) President Mohamed Sobah, widely known as “Chey,” has been elected as a Vice President of the Asian Surfing Federation (ASF), marking another significant achievement for Maldivian surfing at the continental level.

Sobah has been serving as the President of the Maldives Surfing Association since 2019, playing an important role in the development and promotion of surfing in the Maldives.

He has also served as an Executive Committee member of the Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) since 2021, contributing to the wider development of Maldivian sport.

At the Asian Surfing Federation, Sobah has previously taken on responsibilities as an ASF Executive Committee member and also served in Executive Board duties, gaining valuable experience in the administration and development of surfing across Asia.

His election as ASF Vice President represents a major step forward in his leadership career and further strengthens the Maldives' presence within the Asian surfing community.

Sobah's new continental role is also expected to provide an opportunity to further promote the interests of Maldivian surfing and contribute to the growth of the sport across Asia.

The appointment is another proud milestone for the Maldives Surfing Association and comes as Maldivian surfing continues to establish itself on the international stage.
