Resort league: MELIA Go Top with Seven-Goal Show

MELIA continued their impressive start to the Resort League 2026 Ari Zone with a dominant 7-1 victory over Lily Beach, securing their second win in as many matches and moving to the top of the standings.

The result handed Lily Beach their first defeat of the tournament after opening their campaign with a convincing victory.

MELIA took control from the start and raced to a 4-1 halftime lead. The star of the first half was Ahmed Maisoon, who produced a brilliant hat-trick to put his side firmly in command.

Lily Beach managed to pull one goal back through Mohamed Maais in the 20th minute of the first half, but MELIA quickly regained control. In first-half stoppage time, Mohamed Mamdhooh added a fourth goal to give MELIA a comfortable advantage heading into the break.

The second half saw MELIA continue their attacking dominance. Mohamed Adam, Usaidh Ali, and Ahmed Maisoon all found the net to complete the scoring and seal an emphatic 7-1 victory.

Maisoon's outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Match award after scoring four goals, including a first-half hat-trick.

After two rounds of matches, MELIA sit at the top of the Ari Zone table with six points, while Lily Beach are third with three points.

The convincing win strengthens MELIA's position as one of the early favourites to challenge for a place in the final as the league stage continues.
