Resort league : Azeem Hat-Trick Fires Conrad to Winning Start

Conrad Maldives Rangali Island made an impressive start to their Resort League 2026 Ari Zone campaign with a commanding 5-2 victory over Machchafushi, who suffered their second consecutive defeat of the tournament.

The match, played at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, saw Abdulla Azeem steal the spotlight with a superb hat-trick performance, earning him the Man of the Match award.

Conrad opened the scoring in the 17th minute of the first half when Ahmed Shaaheen found the back of the net to give his side a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Machchafushi responded strongly after the break and drew level in the 24th minute of the second half through Ismail Samooh.

However, Conrad quickly regained control of the match. Abdulla Azeem restored the lead in the 32nd minute before an own goal by Abdulla Shareef just two minutes later increased Conrad's advantage to 3-1.

Azeem struck again in the 36th minute to make it 4-1, but Machchafushi continued to battle and reduced the deficit through Mohamed Naayif three minutes later.

With the match heading towards full time, Azeem completed his hat-trick in the final minute to seal a convincing 5-2 victory for Conrad.

The result marked a perfect start for Conrad in their first match of this year's tournament, while Machchafushi remain without a point after losing their opening two matches.
