The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has announced that Eid al-Adha prayers will be held across 25 mosques and four large outdoor spaces in the Greater Malé area tomorrow.
Large congregational prayers are scheduled at the Maafannu Stadium in Malé, the Villingili Football Ground, the Synthetic Track in Hulhumalé Phase 1, and the Sports Complex in Hulhumalé Phase 2. The mass prayer at the Hulhumalé Phase 2 location will be led by young Imam Al-Hafiz Mohamed Hanoon Hussain. Major prayers will also take place at the Islamic Centre (Masjid al-Sultan Muhammad Thakurufaanu al-Auzam) and King Salman Mosque.
A total of 17 mosques in Malé, seven in Hulhumalé, and Masjid al-Salam in Villingili are designated for the occasion. Due to recent volatile weather, the Ministry noted that if rain prevents outdoor gatherings, Eid prayers will shift entirely indoors to all regional mosques that host regular Friday prayers. The prayers are scheduled to begin promptly at 7:00 AM.
