Yes Maldives Pvt Ltd has been awarded the contract to construct a seven-storey extension to the Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) Malé, aiming to expand the school’s capacity for A-Level students.
The agreement was signed on Wednesday in a ceremony attended by Minister of Education Dr Ismail Shafeeu, representing the Ministry, and Yes Maldives Director Ahlam Rushdhy.
The new annex, to be built on vacant land on the southern side of the CHSE Malé campus, will feature 15 classrooms, four science laboratories, a staff room, a senior teachers’ room, and administrative offices.
Upon completion, the project will double the school’s physical space, allowing it to accommodate more students pursuing higher secondary education. CHSE Malé, which reopened in 2024, enrolled around 800 new students when operations resumed. The expansion is expected to ease demand for A-Level studies in the capital.
