Visit Maldives Partners with Ignite Travel Group to Boost Tourism from Australia

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) has launched a joint marketing campaign with Ignite Travel Group (ITG), an award-winning Australian destination marketing and travel distribution company, to enhance the Maldives’ visibility as a top travel destination in Australia. The campaign runs from July 17 to August 31, 2025.
This collaboration aligns with Visit Maldives’ strategic goals to boost brand recognition and increase tourism arrivals from Australia, particularly during the Maldives' low season. Leveraging ITG’s multi-channel expertise, the campaign will utilize platforms like Flight Centre, My Holiday, and My Maldives to promote curated travel packages tailored to high-value Australian travellers, including couples, honeymooners, and families.
Key elements of the campaign include:
- Curated Maldivian travel experiences aimed at value-driven luxury segments.
- Targeted digital advertising across leading Australian media platforms.
- Traditional press coverage to increase awareness and drive bookings.
- A focus on increasing visitor stay duration and overall spend.
Australia remains an important source market for Maldives tourism. As of June 29, 2025, a total of 20,613 Australian travellers have visited the country. MMPRC continues to strengthen its footprint in the Australian market through initiatives such as collaborations with Singapore Airlines and Australian tourism stakeholders.
