Equator Village has once again been crowned Indian Ocean’s Leading Airport Hotel at the World Travel Awards 2025, held on 28 June in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This marks the third consecutive year the resort has received this prestigious recognition, following its wins in 2023 and 2024.
Mohamed Waheed, Resort Manager at Equator Village, expressed pride in the achievement:“Winning for the third consecutive year is a proud moment for all of us. It’s a true testament to the passion, creativity, and effort of our team. From the personalised service to the warm and welcoming spaces they so thoughtfully create, every detail reflects their dedication. This award is a celebration of their hard work, and we sincerely thank our guests and partners for being part of our journey.”
Celebrating over 30 years of honoring excellence, the World Travel Awards are considered among the highest accolades in global tourism, with winners selected through an international voting process involving both industry professionals and the public.
Just five minutes from Gan International Airport, Equator Village combines unmatched convenience with the laid-back charm of southern Maldives. The resort features 78 spacious bungalows, each opening into lush tropical gardens, and offers facilities such as a beachfront restaurant, bar, pool, gym, and meeting spaces — all infused with the warm hospitality of Addu.
