Naivaadhoo Harbor Repair Works Underway

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has begun installing concrete blocks for the quay wall construction as part of the ongoing harbor repair works in Haa Dhaalu Naivaadhoo.

The Design and Build of Hdh. Naivaadhoo Harbor Repair Project was initiated by the Government of Maldives in 2022 and officially awarded to MTCC on January 16, 2023. The project site is located on the southwest side of Naivaadhoo island and aims to strengthen and modernize harbor infrastructure for the community.

The scope of the project includes:

1. 72,257.88 cubic meters of dredging and excavation
2. 398.30 meters of breakwater and revetment
3. 231.00 meters of quay wall structure
4. Installation of harbor lights
5. Construction of pavement

MTCC’s progress on the quay wall installation marks a crucial step toward revitalizing the harbor, ensuring improved functionality and resilience for maritime operations. The upgraded harbor is expected to greatly benefit residents and local seafarers by enhancing access, safety, and operational efficiency.
