National carrier Maldivian has signed an agreement with the Maldives Hajj Corporation to facilitate Hajj pilgrim travel for 2025. The signing ceremony, held at the Islamic Centre, was attended by the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.
The agreement was signed by Ibrahim Iyas, Managing Director of Island Aviation Services Limited, and Mohamed Shakeel, Managing Director of Hajj Corporation.
Under this partnership, Maldivian will transport 500 Maldivian pilgrims, covering 50% of the government’s Hajj quota allocated by Saudi Arabia. The flights will be operated using the new Airbus A330, the latest addition to Maldivian’s fleet.
Speaking at the event, Ibrahim Iyas emphasized that this milestone was made possible through government support, which enabled the induction of the widebody aircraft. He highlighted how this has strengthened Maldivian’s global network, expanding the airline’s capabilities.
This partnership marks a significant development in improving the ease and convenience of travel for Maldivian Hajj pilgrims.
