Maldives Meteorological Service Issues Yellow Alert for Central Atolls

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a Yellow Alert for areas spanning from Lhaviyani Atoll to Alif Dhaal Atoll, warning residents and travelers of adverse weather conditions expected tonight, January 2, 2025.
The alert is in effect from 9:00 PM tonight to 1:00 AM tomorrow. During this period, strong winds between 25 to 30 mph, accompanied by gusts reaching up to 50 mph, are anticipated. The MMS also predicts very rough seas, urging all marine vessels to exercise caution.
