Sun Siyam Iru Fushi has unveiled an exciting new activity for marine lovers—Conservation Snorkeling—an educational and hands-on experience guided by the resort’s resident marine biologist, Mohamed Shah. This initiative offers guests an opportunity to explore the vibrant underwater ecosystem of the Maldives while actively contributing to its conservation.

An Engaging and Impactful Experience

Participants will assist in monitoring coral reef health and fish populations using tools such as underwater fish guides, coral health charts, and writing slates. Guests will learn to identify various fish species and assess reef conditions, contributing valuable data to the resort’s marine conservation efforts. Discussions with Mohamed Shah will provide deeper insights into the findings, enhancing guests’ understanding of the marine life at the Iru Fushi lagoon and house reef.

This immersive activity is part of Sun Siyam Cares, the resort’s flagship program for environmental protection and community support. Guests can contribute to global conservation efforts by joining the Coral Watch citizen science project, making their vacation a meaningful and impactful experience.
