Malaysia Appoints Honorary Consul to the Maldives

Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Dr. Abdulla Khaleel presented the exequatur to Mr. Ragheb Ahmed Khalaf, the newly appointed Honorary Consul of Malaysia to the Maldives, during a meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In his remarks, Minister Khaleel highlighted the important role of honorary consuls in fostering stronger bilateral relations and enhancing people-to-people connections between the Maldives and the countries they represent. He emphasized that such appointments contribute significantly to mutual understanding and collaboration across various sectors.
Honorary consuls are appointed by governments to oversee consular services and provide support to their citizens residing in or visiting the host country. Following the presentation of the exequatur, Mr. Ragheb Ahmed Khalaf is officially authorized to carry out his responsibilities as the Honorary Consul of Malaysia in the Maldives.
This appointment underscores the commitment of both nations to further strengthen their longstanding friendship and cooperative ties.
