The B. Eydhafushi Harbor Development Project has made substantial strides over the past year, with dredging for the existing harbor now 94% complete and the harbor channel dredging at 93%.
The installation of quay wall blocks is also progressing rapidly, underscoring the project’s alignment with the current administration's focused commitment and support.
The extensive project involves dredging 28,304 cubic meters of the harbor, an additional 3,354 cubic meters for the harbor channel, and constructing crucial infrastructure, including a 402-meter quay wall, a 170-meter breakwater, and a 383-meter revetment. Additional components include an 11x11 meter concrete ramp, an 18x2 meter concrete bridge, and 1,814 square meters of harbor pavement. The project also provides essential amenities such as harbor lighting, mooring buoys, and an access platform for the high-speed ferry network.
With an investment of MVR 64.67 million, the B. Eydhafushi Harbor Development Project represents a substantial commitment to bolstering local infrastructure and improving connectivity in the region.
