Maldivian Announces New Seamless Connection with RTL Ferry Services

Malé, Maldives – August 4, 2024 – Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has unveiled an enhanced travel experience with a new seamless connection between its early morning flight to Gaafu Alifu Kooddoo (GKK) and RTL ferry services. This development, effective immediately, aims to provide travelers with a more convenient and efficient journey to their destinations.

Passengers flying on Maldivian’s early morning flight Q2260 to GKK will now have the option to directly connect to the RTL ferry services, streamlining their transition from air to sea travel. This new integration is expected to simplify travel plans and enhance the overall passenger experience by reducing the need for additional arrangements.

The RTL ferry service, which operates daily, will facilitate the following route:

1. Gaafu Alifu Kooddoo to Gaafu Alifu Villingili: Departure at 9:30 AM, Arrival at 9:40 AM.

This initiative reflects Maldivian’s dedication to improving connectivity and passenger satisfaction. By linking its flight services with RTL’s high-speed ferries, Maldivian aims to offer a more cohesive and comfortable travel experience.

The enhanced connection is part of the broader ‘Integrated National Public Ferry Network’ project, launched in 2021 by the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation in partnership with the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). This project is designed to improve transportation links across the Maldives’ atolls, with RTL ferries providing reliable and efficient service while prioritizing safety and comfort.

Maldivian’s new connection with RTL highlights both organizations’ commitment to enhancing travel across the Maldives. With this new option, passengers can look forward to a smoother, more integrated journey between the country’s diverse islands.
