A ceremony was held to promote 166 police officers working in the Malé area.

The ceremony, held today at Iskandharu Building, was officiated by Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Faruhadh Fikuree and senior police officers also attended the ceremony.

Addressing the police officers who were promoted today, the Commissioner said that a change in rank means taking on greater responsibilities and being more attentive than before.

He also noted that after a promotion, as officers enter their new working environment, more people will be watching to ensure that their level of service is maintained in line with their new rank.

The Commissioner urged the officers to deliver results that match their new positions, in a manner that leaves no room for questions from either within or outside the institution, and to set a good example for the employees working under them.

Among those promoted were 35 police officers promoted from Senior Sergeant to Sub-Inspector, 121 officers promoted from Sergeant to Senior Sergeant, and 10 officers promoted from Constable to Sergeant.
