This massive drug haul has raised serious concerns about the illegal drug trade in the region.

According to police sources, the operation was carried out after a coordinated intelligence effort, which led to the interception of the fishing vessel suspected of being involved in the trafficking of narcotics. Seven individuals, aged between 20 and 58, were arrested in connection with the massive drug seizure. The suspects are believed to have been involved in transporting the drugs to Sri Lanka.
