Resort League:Soneva Jani Climb to Noonu Zone Summit with Convincing Victory

Soneva Jani returned to winning ways in the Resort League 2026 – Noonu Zone, defeating Robinson 3-0 to move to the top of the league table.

After opening their campaign with a 2-2 draw against Cheval Blanc, Soneva Jani produced a composed performance to collect their first victory of the tournament. The win takes them to four points from two matches, enough to move to the top of the standings on goal difference.

Robinson entered the match full of confidence after defeating Siyam World 2-1 in their opening fixture, but they were unable to stop an in-form Soneva Jani side.

The first half was a closely contested affair, with both teams creating chances. However, the breakthrough came in the 19th minute, when Hussain Shaffah found the back of the net to give Soneva Jani a 1-0 lead heading into the halftime break.

Soneva Jani continued to dominate after the restart and doubled their advantage in the 29th minute of the second half through Mohamed Fathooh Firag. They sealed the victory in the closing moments of the match when Ibrahim Niyaz added a third goal to complete an impressive 3-0 win.

Despite not getting on the scoresheet, Ali Shiyaz was named Man of the Match for his outstanding all-round performance.

The victory sees Soneva Jani take over at the top of the Noonu Zone standings, while Robinson will look to bounce back in their next league fixture as the race for a place in the final continues.
