Resort League: Robinson Leave It Late to Defeat Siyam World

Resort League 2026 – Noonu Zone continued with a dramatic encounter as Robinson Club claimed a 2-1 victory over Siyam World, thanks to a stoppage-time own goal.

The match marked Robinson's first appearance of this year's tournament, while it was the second outing for Siyam World, who were looking to bounce back after losing their opening match.

Robinson made a bright start and broke the deadlock in the 17th minute of the first half when Mohamed Yaif found the back of the net. His goal gave Robinson a deserved 1-0 advantage heading into the halftime break.

Siyam World responded strongly after the restart and were rewarded in the 30th minute of the second half when Ali Zubair scored the equaliser to bring the match level at 1-1.

With the game seemingly heading for a draw, Robinson found a dramatic winner in second-half stoppage time. A cross into the box resulted in an unfortunate own goal by Siyam World's Ahmed Ayaaz, handing Robinson all three points.

Mohamed Yaif, who opened the scoring and led Robinson's attack throughout the match, was named Man of the Match.

The victory gives Robinson a winning start to their Noonu Zone campaign, while Siyam World suffer their second consecutive defeat and face an uphill battle to keep their hopes of reaching the knockout stage alive.

The Noonu Zone features five teams competing in a single league format, with the league winners advancing directly to the final, while the second and third-placed teams will contest a playoff semi-final for the remaining place in the championship match.
