Resort league: Finolhu Edge Avani to Reach Baa Zone Final

Finolhu booked their place in the Resort League Baa Zone final after a thrilling 2-1 victory over Avani in the first semi-final.

Finolhu made a bright start and took the lead in the 20th minute of the first half through Hassan Shaam, who finished clinically to give his side a deserved advantage before the break.

Avani, who advanced to the semi-finals as Group A winners with seven points from three group-stage matches, fought back strongly in the second half. Their persistence paid off in the 31st minute when Gusayyu found the equaliser to level the contest at 1-1.

However, the celebrations were short-lived as Ali Shaheed restored Finolhu's lead just three minutes later with what proved to be the winning goal.

Despite late pressure from Avani, Finolhu held firm to secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory and a place in the Baa Zone final.

Finolhu's opening goalscorer Hassan Shaam was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance, leading his team to a memorable semi-final win.
