Maldives Show Fighting Spirit Despite Defeat to Bangladesh

The Maldives Under-18 Men's Handball Team displayed determination and resilience despite suffering a 23-32 defeat to Bangladesh in their second match of the IHF Trophy Zone II Men's Junior Championship 2026.

Coming into the match with confidence after a convincing 38-21 victory over Afghanistan in their tournament opener, the young Maldivian side battled hard against a strong Bangladeshi team and refused to give up until the final whistle.

Although the result did not go in Maldives' favour, the players showed great character throughout the contest, continuing to fight for every ball and creating several scoring opportunities against one of the tournament's stronger sides.
