Record-Breaking Husy Continues to Raise Maldivian Athletics Flag Abroad

Maldivian track queen Husna Mohamed (Husy) has once again showcased her class on the international stage by winning an impressive six medals at the 38th Malaysian International Masters Athletics Championship 2026.
Competing against some of Asia's best masters athletes, Husy claimed gold medals in the 200m, 400m and Medley Relay, while adding silver medals in the 100m and 800m events. She also secured a bronze medal in the 4x400m Relay, capping off another outstanding international performance.
Husy is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of Maldivian women's masters athletics. In 2025, she etched her name into the nation's sporting history by becoming the first Maldivian athlete to win a medal at the Asian Masters Athletics Championships, held in Chennai, India. At the championship, she captured a silver medal in the 10k and a bronze medal in the 5,000m, earning the Maldives its first-ever medals at the continental masters athletics level.
Her latest achievements in Malaysia further strengthen her reputation as one of the Maldives' most successful masters athletes. Through dedication, discipline and consistency, Husy continues to inspire athletes across the country and prove that age is no barrier to excellence.
With medals now won at both Asian and international masters championships, Husy's achievements stand as a landmark moment for Maldivian athletics and a source of pride for the nation.
