The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Niyama Private Islands Maldives in the second match of the Resort League 2026, earning all three points in an entertaining encounter at Angsana Velavaru.

Vommuli made the perfect start to the match, taking the lead within the opening minute through Ibrahim Adam. The early goal stunned Niyama and gave Vommuli immediate control of the contest.

Despite the setback, Niyama gradually found their rhythm and pushed forward in search of an equaliser. Their efforts were rewarded deep into first-half stoppage time when Ali Fahumee found the back of the net to level the score at 1-1 heading into the break.

The second half began much like the first, with Vommuli striking early. Amil Ali restored his side's advantage shortly after the restart, scoring what would prove to be the winning goal.

Niyama continued to press for another equaliser, but Vommuli's defence held firm to preserve their lead and secure an important opening victory in the competition.
