17kg of Drugs Seized in Hulhumale’ Flat During Assault Investigation

Police responded to reports of a man being assaulted in a flat in Hulhumale’ Phase 2, but their search led to the discovery of approximately 17.39kg of drugs.
The incident occurred at an MPL Tower flat on Sunday night. Police said the drugs were found when officers arrived to investigate the alleged assault.
The flat’s occupant, Mohamed Jazlan Ashraf, Male’ Registry no. 1786, was taken into custody. The court has placed him in remand until the end of the trial.
Authorities noted that Jazlan was alone at the flat when police entered, but there was damage to property and other signs of an altercation.
The Drug Enforcement Department and Hulhumale’ Police are continuing the investigation.
