President Dr Muizzu Honours First PhD Holder in Applied Linguistics in Dhivehi

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has presented a commemorative plaque to Dr Aminath Zahir, recognising her as the first recipient of a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Applied Linguistics in Dhivehi.
The presentation was held this morning during the official Republic Day ceremony at the Maldives Centre for Social Education.
Dr Aminath Zahir earned this distinction from the Maldives National University, marking a historic milestone for Dhivehi language research. Her doctoral work focuses on identifying strategies for the development and advancement of the Dhivehi language, contributing significantly to the preservation and growth of the national language.
