Bank of Maldives Breaks Ground for New Branch in Sh. Kanditheemu

Bank of Maldives (BML) has officially commenced construction of its new branch in Sh. Kanditheemu, marking another step forward in expanding its nationwide banking network.

The groundbreaking ceremony, held today, was attended by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, Cabinet Ministers, BML Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef, and senior officials of the Bank.

The new branch will strengthen access to banking services for residents of Kanditheemu and surrounding islands. BML currently operates a branch in Sh. Funadhoo and provides ATM services across all inhabited islands within the atoll.

As the leading financial institution in the Maldives, BML’s network now includes 42 branches across all 20 atolls, 193 Self Service Banking Centres, 251 ATMs, extensive Agent Banking services, and advanced Digital Banking solutions.

The new branch in Kanditheemu reflects BML’s continued commitment to enhancing financial inclusion and delivering accessible, reliable banking services to communities across the nation.
