Komandoo SDMZ NG Crowned Champions of Ooredoo Nation’s Atoll eSports League 2025

Ooredoo Maldives has announced the successful conclusion of the Ooredoo Nation Atoll eSports League 2025, the first-ever nationwide eSports tournament conducted entirely online, connecting players across the Maldives through Ooredoo’s advanced digital network.
The groundbreaking league began on 20th August and concluded on 8th September 2025, bringing together 16 atolls, 35 islands, 49 teams divided into six groups (A–F), and a total of 294 players. The competition showcased how digital connectivity can unite gamers from across the country, breaking barriers of geography and accessibility.
At the grand closing ceremony held on 2nd October 2025 at Ooredoo Maldives Headquarters in Malé, Minister of Cities Hon. Adam Shareef Umar attended as the Chief Guest, alongside island council members from across the country. The event underscored the growing importance of eSports in youth empowerment and community engagement.
Winners of the Ooredoo Nation Atoll eSports League 2025:
- 1st Place: Sh. Komandoo SDMZ NG — Prize: MVR 25,000
- 2nd Place: Gn. Fvml City AKZ — Prize: MVR 12,000
- 3rd Place: Fonadhoo DMZ — Prize: MVR 6,000
- 4th Place: Team B. Kudarikilu — Prize: MVR 3,000
- Most Valuable Player (MVP): Maanu, Fvml City AKZ — Prize: MVR 4,000
Speaking at the ceremony, Hussain Niyaz, Chief Commercial Officer of Ooredoo Maldives, said the tournament marked a milestone in the company’s ongoing mission to empower the Maldivian gaming community.
“The Ooredoo Nation Atoll eSports League is a milestone in our journey to empower the Maldivian gaming community. For the first time, players from 16 atolls participated in a fully online nationwide tournament, demonstrating how Ooredoo’s superior network creates opportunities for youth to connect, compete, and showcase their talents,” said Niyaz.
With the successful completion of the league, Ooredoo Maldives continues to reinforce its commitment to digital empowerment, youth development, and placing the Maldives on the global eSports map.
