CBHC25: Bangladesh Dominate South Africa with Straight-Set Victory

Kulhudhuffushi City - Bangladesh cruised past South Africa with a commanding 2-0 win in Match 2 of the Commonwealth Beach Handball Championship 2025, continuing their strong start to the tournament.
The game saw standout performances from Md. Nahid Ali, who netted 19 points, and Md. Khokon Molla, who scored 16 and was named Player of the Match. Their sharp finishing and relentless attack proved too much for South Africa to handle.
Bangladesh wrapped up the first set 24–7 and carried the momentum into the second, sealing it 29–20 for a decisive 53–27 overall scoreline.
South Africa fought hard, with Shaun Mpho Mokhine scoring 12 points, but the side could not close the gap against Bangladesh’s pace and accuracy.
The win builds on the excitement of the championship, which officially kicked off in Kulhudhuffushi City today. The tournament, the first-ever Commonwealth Beach Handball Championship, has brought together teams from across the Commonwealth in a landmark event for the sport, shining a spotlight on the Maldives as the host nation.
Bangladesh now looks ahead with confidence as the competition heats up, while South Africa will regroup in hopes of bouncing back in their upcoming fixtures.
