President holds meeting with the President of the People's Republic of China.

His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu met with His Excellency Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China, this morning at the Tianjin Yingbin Hotel.
President Xi warmly welcomed President Dr. Muizzu and expressed appreciation for his official visit, noting its importance in further strengthening the longstanding friendship and bilateral relations between the two nations. President Dr. Muizzu conveyed his pleasure at visiting China for the second time in an official capacity and extended gratitude to President Xi for the gracious invitation and warm hospitality.
The two leaders held productive discussions on a range of priority areas, including economic development, trade and investment, security cooperation, and enhancing people-to-people ties. President Xi Jinping reiterated China’s strong commitment to supporting the Maldives in achieving its national development objectives and emphasized the importance of maintaining a results-oriented partnership.
Both Presidents agreed to elevate bilateral relations under the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership (2024–2028), aiming to deepen collaboration across multiple sectors.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of their shared commitment to strengthening cooperation and promoting mutual interests.
