Man Arrested for Vandalising Café in Male’ City

Police have arrested a 49-year-old man in connection with a vandalism incident at a café in Male’ City earlier this week.
The suspect, Mohamed Razeen, of M. Star, K. Male’, was taken into custody on Tuesday under a court-issued warrant, following the destruction of a glass display rack at Ice Break, a small café located on Iramaa Magu in the Maafannu district.
The incident occurred around 8:56 a.m. on Sunday and was captured on the café’s CCTV system. The footage shows Razeen entering the premises and appearing visibly agitated as he gestures and speaks angrily to a staff member behind the counter. He then abruptly kicks the glass display rack, shattering it, before leaving the café.
Razeen was presented before the Criminal Court shortly after his arrest, which remanded him into police custody for 15 days as investigations continue.
The motive behind the act remains unclear, and police have confirmed the case is under further investigation.
