Ha. Thuraakunu Mosque Construction Progresses with Roof Beam and Slab Works

The construction of the new mosque in Ha. Thuraakunu is making steady progress, with shuttering and bar bending works currently underway for the roof beam and Level 3 slab of the prayer hall.

The project, awarded to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), was initiated under an agreement signed with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs on 4th September 2023. It involves the construction of a mosque with a capacity to accommodate 300 worshippers.

With a contract value of MVR 10,384,214.35 (excluding GST), the mosque is designed to serve as a key place of worship for the island’s community.

As of now, 15 percent of the overall work has been completed.

MTCC remains committed to delivering the project in line with quality standards and timelines.
